LG G Flex makes its way to Sprint on Jan 31

Pre-orders start today for the curved and flexible 6-inch smartphone.

Sprint said on Thursday that the curved and flexible LG G Flex will go on sale in its stores starting Jan. 31.

The G Flex will be priced at $299.99 with a two-year service agreement. It’s the latest device from the carrier to support Sprint’s Spark LTE network.

Sprint is the first US carrier to announce a launch date for LG’s curved smartphone. AT&T and T-Mobile have also confirmed that they would sell the device.

The LG G Flex features a bendable, curved 6-inch HD display that cuts down on glare, providing a more “cinematic” viewing experience in the process. Also noteworthy, the back panel of the phone is able to heal itself from scratches and scuffs.

Powered by Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, the handset can go toe-to-toe with other top smartphones. Internally, the G Flex boasts a 2.26GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB RAM, 32GB storage, and a massive 3500 mAh battery. In terms of cameras, the front side offers a 2.1-megapixel shooter while the back houses a 13-megapixel camera.

The G Flex will be first sold through Sprint’s online and telesales channels beginning January 31. Those wishing to pick one up in a retail store will need to wait until February 7; pre-orders begin today through As an incentive, anyone who places an order before January 31 will receive a free Quickwindow Folio Case with the smartphone.

Customers who purchase the G Flex on or after February. 7 can buy the device through Sprint’s new Easy Pay for Phones program. Qualified customers can place a down payment of $149.99 and pay the remaining balance off over 23 months at a rate of $20.84 a month, with a final monthly payment of $20.68.
